This Week’s Dinners: Sesame Chicken Katsu Three Ways + Banana Chocolate Cream Pie
This week was all about figuring out what to serve with sesame chicken katsu. I ended up making three dinners using it in different ways: a curry night, a rice bowl, and a sandwich. I also finally posted the banana chocolate cream pie recipe.
Let’s start with ingredient prep.
I didn’t do a ton this week, but I did make the broccoli slaw ahead of time, baked a batch of my mini challah bread, and prepped the vegetables for the curry. For the curry, I doubled the recipe so I’d have enough for a second dinner later in the week. As for the challah, it’s best used within 1–2 days if you want that pillowy-soft texture, so I recommend making the sandwich dinner early in the week.

Okay, I meant to make coleslaw, but I forgot to buy cabbage. Luckily, this broccoli slaw ended up being even better and more interesting than a classic slaw.
